We all have challenges in our lives that impact our mental health. For me personally, the past month has been very challenging. When asked how I can keep functioning everyday with everything happening around me, my answer is simple: I don’t have a choice. Sure, I could break down and feel stuck and not work through the issues in front of me, but how is that going to improve my situation or help me at all?
A dear friend told me, “I’m in awe of your faith.” It is true, I am grounded in my religion, and that helps me overcomes the challenges I am faced with, but there’s also mental health services that we can all benefit from.
We need to get away from the stigma that seeking help makes us weak or less than. We are not superhuman and there is no shame is seeking help when needed. More important is your ability to identify ways to help manage the challenges we are faced with in a healthy way.

Take time today to rest your mind. So often we get stuck in routines that we forget the importance of taking care of ourselves. Now let me be clear, I am my own worst enemy and I need to listen to my advice more instead of just dishing it out all the time.
