After working a 12 hour shift in a busy ED, the first thing I do when I get home is take the hottest shower possible. I let the water run until the temperature is just right. I knowingly waste so much water on a daily basis, when others barely get enough to do household chores let alone stay hydrated.

Let this image serve as a reminder of much we waste and take for granted. I am making a conscious effort to be more mindful of the thigs, like water, I waste every day.
More importantly, I think of the impact of such waste on our environment and our future. If we continue to be selfish and not recognize the harm we are doing, then what future will there be for our children?
Call to action: Be intentional about keeping the water running as you are brushing your teeth or are in the shower. Reflect on the picture and what it means to have so much that we take for granted, when others have so little.
