I had the extraordinary privilege of spending time with several Medal of Honor recipients, individuals whose actions in the most unthinkable circumstances reflect the highest standards of courage, sacrifice, and devotion to others.

Standing beside them, listening to their stories, and witnessing their humility was deeply humbling. These are people who did not set out to be heroes. In moments of chaos and danger, they chose service over self, courage over fear, and duty over comfort.

As a nurse and officer who has deployed into disaster and humanitarian crises, I have always believed that valor isn’t loud, it’s steady, compassionate, and selfless. Being in the presence of those who have lived that truth on the battlefield reminded me that service comes in many forms:

📌 Some run toward danger.
📌 Some heal the wounded.
📌 Some hold the line so others can live.

On this Veterans Day, I honor every veteran, from every branch, every generation, and every conflict, who carried the weight of service so that others could stand freely.

To the heroes I’ve been humbled to meet in my career:
Thank you for your courage.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you for reminding us, what integrity, honor, and love of country truly look like.

May we live lives worthy of your example.

We will remember your stories, and we will continue your legacy of service.
