I’m honored to be the ONLY nurse speaking at the 47th National Medical Convention in Washington, DC from October 10–13, 2025.
My session, “The Role of Nurses in Public Health and Disaster Response,” will highlight how nurses are central to preparedness, response, and recovery during disasters and public health crises. With over 19 years of experience in emergency nursing, disaster deployments, and public health preparedness, I’ve witnessed firsthand the critical role nurses play not only at the bedside but also in shaping policies, guiding communities, and ensuring health systems remain resilient.
At this convention, I’ll share insights from real-world response efforts, lessons learned from the field, and strategies to strengthen nursing’s voice in disaster medicine.
This gathering is an incredible opportunity to engage with healthcare leaders, educators, and practitioners committed to advancing medicine and public health.
