Are people really surprised? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a proud nurse and humbled to know that the world, people trust us the most over all professions.

However, wouldn’t it be great if, along with this recognition, things changed? Nurses had more autonomy instead of some states restricting what APRNs can do?

What about safe staffing and universal licensure? If, in addition to being a part of the “most trusted profession,” we actually got treated better instead of being abused by patients?

So I ask, what do we get for being the “most trusted profession?”
