There is a lot of misinformation out there on the internet, especially as it pertains to public health measures.
Recently, my dear friend and colleague, Matthew Lindsley, shared an article about why there is fluoride in water so that the public can understand its importance rather than relying on social media platforms that provide information that is not reputable, or evidence-based.
This is important to me because my mother grew up in a country where there was no fluoride in water and teeth decay was a major issue, not only for her, but for everyone else int eh country. She never showed her teeth when she smiled, as she was always self-conscious about her teeth. It wasn’t until she was in her 30’s and could afford dental implants that she started sharing her beautiful smile with the world.
I share this personal story in hopes that we all stay informed and understand the implications of what something like fluoride has, on dental decay.
