In this series, I will share items I bring on deployments that you may want to consider putting in your bag. Today, let’s focus on the long care rides and staying charged.

There is nothing worse than being in a vehicle and not being able to charge your phone. Especially if you are all the way in the back row of a big van and the person riding shotgun has two phones plugged in, their personal one and one to guide navigation.
This is just one example of what I throw in my go bag for car rides. There are newer ones out there with multiple ports, for iPhones and Androids. There are even some that include the cords which is super helpful.
This may seem like such a simple thing, but if you are ever in the back row of a van and have a dead battery, you will never let it happen again. Extra bonus if you bring the charging cables that are long enough to reach all the way to the back (yes, they do sell them that long).
