My post yesterday stressed the need for us to not let anything impact our mental health and our happiness. Today, I want to talk about being a prisoner to something we can’t change.
You’re probably confused because I always talk about how much I love change and new opportunities. At times, I can be impulsive and just leave and move on to something else just to protect my mental health and to be in a less toxic space that makes me happy.
However, there are things that are simply out of our control, that impact our well-being. This can be difficult to come to terms with and we may feel stuck and powerless.
Don’t be a prisoner to something you can’t change. Don’t dwell on all the negative parts about it and how it is impacting you. I am not saying to ignore it, but rather changed your mentality to see a different perspective. Try to make something good out of the situation although it may be easier said than done.
Recognizing that change is hard and we may be in a situation where we fell stuff because of our circumstances, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t be happy. Don’t let the “noise” around you make things difficult for you to see that you can be happy and you are not a prisoner.
We need to spread more positivity, otherwise we will all be running together in a rabbit hole with tunnel vision. There is a glimpse of light, you just have to WANT to see it.
