At an award ceremony this weekend, I sat next to a man, David, who had been married to his wife, the recipient of one of the nursing awards, for 47 years.
David shared that he almost lost his wife a few months back due to an unexpected illness.
During her speech, she mentioned how the nurses and the NPs were the ones who truly made her diagnosis and provided her care that led her to being able to walk on the stage and accept her award.
Her husband shared how important the nursing profession is and how vital it is to support one another and enjoy the moments you have with someone.
The lesson I learned that impacted me so much, was how we should never take the time that we have for granted.we should never take the time that we have for granted.
My words of wisdom for you all is to cherish the time you have with those that matter the most to you. Be their cheerleader, hype them up. What do you have to lose?
