The topic of donations comes up every time there is a disaster. There are rules and regulations as well as guidelines. Each jurisdiction and state and country is different and that can pose challenges.

The WHO has guidelines in regard to donations of medical supplies and devices. Though this is not a current list, the information listed can be used as a basis as disaster coordinators work on supply chain issues and planning for the next disaster.

We are seeing challenges as it pertains to obtaining IV fluids. There are mitigation strategies in place, but it is up to each and every one of us to be proactive in disaster planning.
