I am writing today to ask for your participation in a project on rural disaster philanthropy that CDP’s Midwest Early Recovery Fund is working on with support from FSG.  The FSG team is conducting secondary research, interviews, and a survey of funders and grantee partner organizations to understand the current trends, challenges, and best practices for rural disaster philanthropy. , and best practices in this field

The goal of the survey is to ensure that this project captures a wide range of perspectives across rural America from organizations throughout the rural disaster ecosystem.  

Please consider participating in this survey and, if you are amenable, distribute it to your network of funders and community organizations that also work in rural communities.  

We plan to keep the survey open through Feb. 28. We would appreciate your perspective and help in ensuring that this survey reaches as diverse and representative an audience as possible. If you have any questions reach out to  Cari Cullen at:

Call to Action: Nearly 12 million economically disadvantaged children live in rural America. In disaster their communities depend on philanthropy to fill the gaps they need to recover.
