The best part about this conference thus far has been reconnecting with so many ENA colleagues. That is the beauty of nursing, no matter where you go, you will always find like-minded people.

The skies were dark today as a result of the wildfires. People north from where we have started to evacuate. How scary to be experiencing what is said to be one of the most history evacuations of all time. Just goes to show how important climate change is.

The Indigenous Elder that graced us this morning with his wisdom, highlight the unconscious bias that we all have by sharing a riddle. I admit, I didn’t know the answer and when he shared it, I was shocked because my mind didn’t even think of it. No matter how much we try to be aware of our biases, our unconscious biases still exist.

Today I shared one of two presentations for this conference. It makes me so happy to speak about the topics that I am passionate about in hopes of raising awareness on what nurses can do. Collectively, we need to focus our efforts on advocacy and not working in silos. That is the only way future generations will be able to heal from the generational trauma we have endured.
