They deliver food under gunfire.
They pull children from the rubble.
They drive into disaster zones while everyone else is running out.
Humanitarian workers stand between life and death for millions of people-and yet, they are being killed at record rates.
📢 2024 was the deadliest year in history for humanitarians. 2025 is on track to be worse.
The rules of war-meant to protect civilians and those who aid them-are being shredded in plain sight. Bombings hit aid convoys. Hospitals are destroyed. Relief workers disappear, and the world looks away.
We cannot accept this as “the way things are.”
This World Humanitarian Day (19 August), the United Nations is calling for bold, unapologetic action:
❗ Protect humanitarians-Aid work is not a death sentence.
❗ Respect the rules of war-Civilians and aid workers are not targets.
❗ End impunity-Those who kill with disregard for law must be held accountable.
The humanitarian system is breaking-underfunded, overstretched, under attack.
The people who risk everything to save lives deserve more than hashtags and speeches. They deserve protection, respect, and justice.
🌍 The world is watching, and history will remember who stood up-and who stayed silent.
📣 Now is the time to act. For them. For us. For humanity.
