The future of nursing in 🇰🇼

I am always grateful for the opportunities to present at conferences all over the world.

However, I had the privilege of being Kuwait, presenting in a track dedicated to the nursing profession, to over 100 nurses who represent 37 different countries.

I cannot begin to express the excitement I felt speaking to students, nurses and physicians about the nursing opportunities and the need for strong nursing leadership, as well as my love and passion for disaster nursing.

More importantly, they reminded me of the challenges that I faced early on in my career and my dedication to myself, my family, my culture, to find a way to overcome those challenges.

I am not ignorant to the fact that there are challenges that are as a result of systems that we can’t always change, but…

..we CAN change ourselves and our approach. We CAN learn to advocate for practices that will improve not only patient care, but the future of nursing.

Here’s to the nurses in Kuwait 🇰🇼. May you be blessed, recognized, and supported for the work that you do and for your desire to change the future.
